Sixth -grader Sarah Sagan's mother and grandmother share a secret that has been passed down through generations for centuries. Sarah is unaware of it until her grandmother passes away during the week of her twelfth birthday, leaving her a special crystal that transports her to another world. On Crya, she is offered special training in the arts and sciences of dreams, imagination, music, healing and the power of emotions. Sarah realizes she has an important purpose on Earth that could save the human race from impending disaster and possible annihilation. She meets others like herself and her new life is a dream come true until one of her friends breaks a rule on Crya and finds himself in a very dangerous situation. As Sarah discovers the Faerwald's Secret, a new strength and bravery are born within her, compelling her to risk it all to save a friend.
