Greetings. Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! We'll return to the spiritual meaning of the above verse as the Holy Spirit illuminates our understanding. Hebrews 10:32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions. Even after God has started illuminating his word unto you: the carnal mind will again pick a fight to afflict your thinking. The fight is to make you see God's word in your own wisdom. 1 Thessalonians 3:3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. [What? Are we appointed unto afflictions? Yes] know that we are appointed thereunto. Remember it's the old man or carnal mind that's doing the afflictions. Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
