Kirby and the Little Girl
R P Maxwell
"A little girl is a wonderful thing," sighs Kirby after Professor Blue Jay explains that a little girl of the human species just saved him from the claws of her beloved cat. Once Kirby learns to fly he enjoys sitting high up in his favorite tree, a giant Ponderosa Pine, and singing to the little girl, but she never looks up. One day, the ravens swoop into the nearby Cottonwood tree to lure the cat to its doom, but Kirby comes to the rescue by using his amazing acrobatics, a talent he inherited from his family of Pygmy Nuthatches. "The little girl loves the cat and I love the little girl," Kirby explains to the angry ravens, which fly away in confusion. Now will the little girl look up when Kirby sings to her?
