The Presidential Succession of 1910
Francisco Madero
A book of great importance in Mexican history, this political document opened up renewed national activity, revolving around sincere elections, a greater participation in the setting up of a vibrant government, and the doctrine of 'no reelection' to the presidential office. This book was translated by Rhett's aunt, Charlotte McAdams. After her death, he found her translation sitting in the archives of Southern Methodist University, unpublished, as a bound thesis. When he found out her literary work had been sanctioned by the history department of SMU, he asked the department if there was any restriction which would prevent him from publishing it, and they said no - so with great joy, he felt it was his duty to let the whole world read her work, and at the same time keep the memory of Madero's greatness alive in the English language.
