A horror novelist, hard at work on his new book, suddenly realizes that his plot-line reminds him way too much of the disappearance and murder of a young girl he fell in love with almost thirty years ago. Coincidence? Maybe not. A mentally challenged young man, often the object of torment and ridicule, becomes the local hero in the end, helping to solve a string of decade old murders. An aging hit-man, dying of cancer, reflects back on the question he has been asking himself for almost forty years: was it his bullet that killed JFK, or was someone else involved?
