Rome Innis is sick of the modern world. He goes on a rant one night to a billionaire that happens to own an Island. The billionaire builds a medieval island open to the public for a fee. The island only allows medieval weapons and clothes like in a renaissance fair but on a grander scale. Rome is asked to be the park ranger to the island and he accepts not knowing what he is getting into. Others join him on the island and are met with the appropriate archaic conditions. There are two castles built on the island with cities attached. Two men working together take control of the castles in brutal ways. There are many deaths as a result. Rome and his band of misfit survivors must face down an army of soldiers and the two men who vie to be the Kings of the Island in the Dark.
