This is a tale within a tale. It tells a personal story against the backdrop of the purple blooms of Pretoria renowned for its jacaranda trees. Spanning seven decades, the mood and atmosphere of South Africa come to life - from the time of the Second World War under the leadership of Jan Smuts - to more than 40 years of National Party rule and Nelson Mandela's release after 27 years of imprisonment and becoming president of the 'Rainbow Nation' in 1994 and finally, a new era with the ascendancy of Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018. Jacaranda Rain is a true story and depicts real events as seen through the eyes of the storyteller.
