Chui Choi's parents died when he was thirteen. After two miserable years, his paternal transferred the rebellious Chui from Busan, Republic of Korea, to Burbank, California and the guardianship of his maternal uncle, Hapkido Grandmaster Sung. Over the following seven years, Chui responded well to his uncle's tutelage, graduated from high school with excellent grades and at the beginning of this story was nearing completion of a degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge. He had virtually no money, certainly no car, but he did have an aptitude for Hapkido, and had earned a third-degree black belt, along with numerous tournaments. He respected and obeyed his uncle, and contemplated nothing more than to pursue a career in martial arts. Well, perhaps one thing - he had a certain fondness for blond American women. As his twenty-third birthday neared, he had to begin to address the issue of the inheritance of the estate left behind by his parents. Fortunately, his uncle was taking care of everything. Absolutely everything. Chui is a very intelligent young man, tall, handsome and socially well-endowed, but of course, between work, university, and martial arts classes he didn't have much time left over for girls, and the lack of transportation and money meant that when he did, they weren't impressed. Then, he turned twenty-three, and time for that inheritance. His uncle came through for him, and he came into some money and a lot of stock. As it turned out, his uncle was something of a crook. This volume is a companion piece to Boocher, the fifteenth volume in the series.
