Navigating Through Life
Gerald Slakoff
A young boy introduced to the sea by a friend's father acquired deep respect for the ocean and eventually turned that into a hobby. The hobby turned into a career that was admired by his peers in the nautical world. Physically handicapped? HELL NO! there was no such thing in this youngster's mind. He was taught how to do, how not to do, and how to read and react to people simply by observation. These lessons were learned by observing loving and caring people, as well as those who were crooked and evil. Many of his unique decisions were triggered by gut feelings and intuitions. Such insights developed a strong character, a drive to excel, and a zeal for life that would have challenged the average person. His navigation thru life is a true definition of the word "Captain".
