Lily Callahan truly believes her world has come to an end. She is fourteen years old, and she will soon be starting high school; something she has been looking forward to for years. It's over now. Her parents made the decision to move halfway across the country, and instead of attending with all the friends she has grown up with, she will be attending with total strangers. Lily doubts her ability to make new friends, because she has always felt awkward and shy. Her parents have told her multiple times that everything will be okay. She wants to believe them, and a part of her even realizes it's not really the end of the world; she's just really anxious and scared. However, no one could have foreseen how very complicated and tragic it was going to turn out to be.
