The Presence of Mirka
Chris Beckwith
In a world much like our world, the Presence sends the Mirkan army to destroy the last remaining free Sämi people and turn their homeland into the Mirka Woods National Park. The beautiful Sämi ruler Kir, one of the last Fair Folk, ventures out into the dangerous world of Mirka to stop them, but is reported by a Usanian shopkeeper. Pursued by the police and the MSA spook Sen Isihara, Kir trips over Jul, a bisexual half-Sämi Sharist sympathizer who thinks Kir is a girl, while straight Sen arrests Jessi, Jul's lesbian lover. Jul and Kir, Sen and Jess, struggle with conflicting feelings about each other as they fight off the ruthless Mirkan head spook, Honi Orecson, and launch a risky plan to catch the Presence.
