The year she turned nine, new challenges came when her family uprooted and moved to a western frontier settlement in Moses Lake, Washington, to farm virgin land. Ill prepared for formal schooling, for life in society, and for fulfilling her dream to sing opera, her struggle to overcome limitations eventually wins her an honored place in the musical world of New York City. Her journey from wilderness life to the ultimate sophisticated city life inspires hope for dreamers. However, a wounding betrayal of innocence as a child, and as a teenager, threatens to destroy what she gives her heart to.
