As the church universal confesses and affirms in the Apostles' Creed, he "was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead." God's Salvation Story is not a story about what we have done for God in our faith walk, but what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. In this Epiphany chapter, God reveals that Jesus the King is God's "beloved Son." As we celebrate this chapter, we will look forward to Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and Pentecost, and the final coming of Christ the King.
