November 1944. Hitler's armies are withdrawing from France leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. To Privates James McClendon and Denny LaCross its just another day in the Military Police Corp. That is until they come across a dead army chaplain, sprawled out in a pig pen with his throat ripped apart. Their sergeant, Big Bill Metcalf, born in the hills of Tennessee, knows from grim experience that the wounds were not inflicted by the starving pigs trapped in the pen.
