Despite appearances to the contrary, Brendan doesn't have everything. Yes, it's true that he has money and a bright future in business, but he doesn't really want either of those things. He also has a boyfriend, Kari, whose touch he can hardly tolerate, and a dark secret he's keeping from his parents that's left him feeling broken and defeated.
He wants to get better, to be better, but there doesn't seem to be a way out of his current situation. Then he and Kari go for a walk by the river one afternoon, and they uncover a sleeping being who claims to be Lucifer himself, and who says that he's now bonded to them. At first, Brendan hopes that it's a dream, but then things start to change.
Can Brendan trust that this being, who calls himself the Devil, really has benevolent intentions for himself and for Kari? And if he can trust that, does that mean that he and Kari can trust Lucifer with their hearts?
