Precious is a teenager who finds herself pregnant. She had plans for college, but they're suddenly thrown out the window as she dreams of settling down and making a family with her boyfriend. Her parents, who adopted Precious as a toddler, are beside themselves. They struggle to control their emotions, and sort out how to best help their daughter without controlling her. Precious' mom, Cassie, finds a therapist who helps her sort out her feelings about the fact that she never had an infant herself, and to repair her relationship with her daughter, which has been strained all these years as Precious fights for control. Precious struggles with her decisions and is torn between being a childish victim and a responsible young adult. She makes some amazing decisions in the end, that are not only right for her, but for her baby as well.
