A samurai from the Hojo Clan known as Takeshi Hayashi discovers that Demons and other malevolent folklore beings known as "Yokai" open a portal known as "the hell gate" inside a volcano and plan to launch a campaign to annihilate all humans and take over the earth. Takeshi discovers that he has a special gift and is a chosen champion of the gods. He is the only one capable of stopping the world's destruction by building an army and looking for pieces of a sword that banished the beasts in a similar occurrence known as the First Cataclysm. This same sword was used by the first champion of the gods.
