This is a volume of longer essays, though not overly long, for those of us who fancy ourselves "Thinkers". Those of us who like to consider, ponder, wonder after and analyze abstract concepts and ideas. They first appeared in my former website. Following my natural "intellectual bent", I took my first degree, B. A. 1959, in Western Philosophy, at Michigan State University. Years later, I began having "psychic" experiences again, but this time they were very striking and at least in two situations, life-saving. That naturally led to self-study in Eastern Philosophies, the extra-rational and non-logical in the areas of the Esoteric and Metaphysical. And the Psychic, Mystical and Spiritual. I also read at certain Ancient Indian texts such as Vedanta, and the Vedas that contain insights regarding such concepts as reincarnation, and the innate psychology of incarnating individuals. The current volume, entitled EXISTENTIAL ALONENESS VS ANXIETY LONELINESS, based on a wonderful short book by Clark Moustakas, contains a wide range of topics or notions that tease the minds of certain kinds of thinkers, those of us who enjoy abstract thinking, and finding new approaches to conventional thought. And yet, such notions, ideas, themes and topics are those that necessarily underlie our more common, pragmatic values, attitudes and (tentative) beliefs that act as anchors or underlie our philosophical thoughts. By probing such concepts, by questioning that which is too often taken for granted, it is my belief that we may deepen our thinking and gain new and fresh insights into our conventional thinking. Given these intents and purposes, my hope is that readers will be motivated to explore ideas on at least a somewhat deeper level or from a different angle.
