Daughter of Spring
Dominique Wren
Since leaving Texas, my mom and I, we haven't stayed in one place more than two years, if I was lucky. It was at the point I only remembered what it was like to have a friend was by watching home movies Mom had taken of me with my friend Thane. Watching those videos are the only times I remember what it's like to hear anyone call me Evan. Mom only calls me Evanthe, and I hate it, along with the fact she's dragging me to my third high school since my freshman year; it's also a school for troubled teens and what's sure to get me noticed besides my unusual first name is that my mother also teaches at the school. Which is just perfect --it's one more thing my fellow students can torment me over.
