A Love Thesis, of Sorts
Anthony Giambusso
Miles doesn't know why he's writing about the night Ava dumped him. But he's a writer and that's what writers do. It may be therapeutic or he may just miss her. When he begins writing he is seeping with self-pity and sadness as he brings us into the beat-by-beat account of that night, shining light into corners he had forgotten himself. But as the process of writing takes Miles over many months, he begins dating and moving forward in his love life. He is driven, however, to finish his story of that night. This leads to many complications, like losing sympathy for himself in his own story, or his new girlfriend demanding to read the draft.
