THE LEGEND OF MARCUS BENSON is the story of one rancher's fight for the rights of his black cowhands in the early 1900's. Law was nonexistent on the mainland in Galveston County, Texas. The Ku Klux Klan, which was made up of the prominent ranchers on the north end of the county, dictated their own brand of bias and law enforcement. Marcus Benson was unwilling to adhere to their brand of thinking. The story is based on fact mixed with fiction that builds to an explosive climax. The reader will get a true look at the Ku Klux Klan, life, and the cattle industry in the early 1900's along the Gulf Coast.
