EVERY DAY BABY demonstrates how culture, tradition, family, and cloth (Kente) play an important role in the birth and naming of newborns.



Take a weeklong journey through the halls of a hospital maternity ward in Ghana where nurses are charged with the West African tradition of naming each newborn on the day she or he entered the world. First names are given based on gender and day of birth followed by the family name.
