Murder Walks on Peachtree Street is the story of Makkie Yeats, a middle-aged divorced woman in Azalea, Missouri-where all the streets are named after flowers-tricked into moving in to her childhood home with her Type A sister.

Their 80-year-old mother, Jane, orchestrates everything. She convinces Zoe to sell her beautiful house and Makkie to give up her charming garden apartment. Jane, meanwhile, is moving to Fair Oaks, a mansion-turned-Senior-Bed-and-Board next door. She wants to be pampered and prays her daughters will resolve their differences before she dies.

Makkie is part of the "Overheated Generation," menopausal and miserable. Things get hotter when Zoe, who gets the last word on everything, refuses to turn on the air conditioning during an unprecedented heat wave. Distraught by the drama, Makkie goes to visit her friend Ferdy and stumbles into a murder plot and conspiracy-and an attractive FBI agent.
