1time noun \?t?m\

plural times

a: a period during which something (as an action, process, or condition) exists or continues: an interval comprising a limited and continuous action, condition, or state of being: measured or measurable duration

As Chameleons, the narrow definition of time as something measured is so innate that we often pretend it is not there. However, we cannot forget, only suppress and filter, and none of our memories becomes unbounded by a place in time or a measured duration of time. We cannot abstract a duration except with purposeful obfuscation, which we do; however, it is only a mimic and a convenience which aides our focus on the present. We can replay any past event to perfection, the time duration identical to the original, and thus, create a second copy of the event. This is not overly productive or useful, so we segment and cut memories when recalling them into the present, just like other species with inferior memories do.
