Be'naj and her cohorts have opened the door to the magical laboratory in the ancient eladrin city of Tarmuth, buried by a sandstorm, centuries ago. Within lies the Hall of Doors, a collection of portals used by the Cult of Broken Names to consort with otherworldly creatures in hopes of enhancing their Shaping. Be'naj wants to use the doorways to reach the Sky Lord who has been sending her visions and gain clarity on the dangers that face her people.


Travelling the cosmos provides Thaelios with challenges and opportunities to grow his understanding of the arcane, but danger lurks behind seemingly every corner. He finds out getting from one plane to another is not always easy, and in order to reach the world of the gods, he and his friends need to find a Destination Stone. Getting one requires breaking into a repository in the Abyss, guarded by demons.


Finally reaching Ishmere brings the knowledge they sought, but the situation is even direr than they imagined. Thaelios and Dyphina embark on a quest to keep The Name of the Beast from unleashing the devastating Spawn of Raug, while Be'naj and Saffron must endeavor to keep the Dread Lich, Hadrian No More, from merging Elisahd with the Plane of Shadow.
