Weekly Math Club Materials for Grades 1-2 Cleo Borac

A collection of solid skill building tasks designed for young students who prepare for elementary math competitions such as: MOEMS-E, Elementary Math Leagues, and Math Kangaroo, the book contains 30 weeks of materials: to train strong number sense and rapid computation, to build drawing and visualization skills, to practice word problems, observation and logic based on a large variety of strategies. Each week consists of: a warm-up, a drawing task, and a problem set representing on average one full hour of work at the respective age. A section of hints and answers after each week's materials provides the instructor/parent with the age appropriate strategies for each exercise. Students must be able to add and subtract multi-digit numbers and perform simple multiplications (doubling, tripling).
