On December 12, 1999, I cried out, you're hurting me! You're hurting me! While being manhandled, poked with batons, and pushed onto the back of a police car! This is police brutality! Said, "You people always hollering police brutality!" Norfolk officer Laurant replied as he looked into my eyes. While tears came down my face, I immediately looked at his badge and remembered his name forever! As I was being arrested, I was shocked to be given a false charge. No wonder why, I was roughed up by a couple of Norfolk, VA police officers as if I had ran over and swung their colleague around with my car! This is what I was told I was being charged with doing. Take this journey with me on how in 2000, I became a false felon and served time for a charge I didn't commit.
