Summer Cleanup, the first volume in Amanda Kinzey's Youth Service Heroes series, is the story of a young boy who discovers his passion for helping others through his love for drawing, and a desire to make a difference. Jonas and his classmates have one common goal in mind for Green Street Elementary--to create a cleaner school environment for everyone. Through Jonas's willingness to lead and organize, his recycling movement sparks an interest in his fellow classmates, teachers, and local community members to join the cause and change the way their school looks forever.

Summer Cleanup engages young minds and teaches important life lessons: how to care for our environment, how to be a leader, and how to creatively carry out service projects.
