Thousands of World War II veterans suffered with deep and long- lasting psychic wounds which they generally kept to themselves. The only people who could ever truly understand were other veterans. Taciturn and sometimes impatient, they shared their trauma with very few. This is the story of Troy Hansen, a severely injured career soldier whose courage, commitment, and sacrifice in three wars resulted in the breakup of his family. Through all the years, he was searching for the same fulfillment that he had found with an Army nurse in England during World War II. She was listed as killed-in-action during the Normandy invasion of Fortress Europe. Her memory sustained him through three wars and one crisis after another. Echoes... is the story of one soldier, but it reflects how that generation rose to meet the crisis of World War II bringing two of the most powerful countries in the world to the peace table. Their story needs to be told and is respectfully dedicated to their memory!
