DS Shannon McNulty is called to the scene of a murder at a Belfast apartment. A man has been beaten to death. His boyfriend, Big Betty the drug-dealing drag queen, has been arrested on suspicion. Shannon got to know Betty when he helped her with a previous case, and she believes his pleas of innocence ... right up until he goes on the run before she can get to the truth. Shannon also discovers that the apartment door had to be broken down by the officers who first arrived on the scene in order to gain entry. It seems she's been tasked with her first honest-to-God locked room mystery.
