Wheeler has had a lifelong fascination with aviation. His previous publications include Skippers of the Sky: The Early Years of Bush Flying, Flying Under Fire: Canadian Fliers Recall the Second World War, and numerous articles for the CAHS Journal and Airforce Magazine. He is one of the founders of the Canadian Aviation Historical Society, and editor of the CAHS Journal. He lives in Markham, ON.
