In 1996 Rosie walks out and leaves her father passed out drunk on his favourite green easy chair, and embarks on a journey of self-discovery that takes her from the poverty of a bed-sit in Plymouth to travelling in Israel. Rosie yearns to see the Dead Sea, the last place left that she and her mother were together.

Running from a dark past and uncertain future, Rosie must learn to confront her inner demons. As she battles her own increasing dependency on alcohol, she re-lives moments of her past that brought her to the moment that she left her father, and finds that if she wants to be free of her demons she must return to her past.

Searching for hope, redemption and release from pain, Savage Beauty is in equal measure an exploration of escape and a psychological horror. It is a story of a young woman's search to break from the prison of loneliness. A battle against guilt and shame, and a journey from night terrors to redemption.
