Why write a book about Community Health Evangelism and call it The Chair? Community Health Evangelism is known throughout the world as CHE (pronounced chay). What I have personally witnessed since 1994, when I first was introduced to CHE, has been nothing short of jaw-dropping. There was a time, way back in the 90s, when no one had a clue what this thing called CHE was about. "Are you talking about Che Guevara?" they would ask. No, CHE has no association with the Argentine revolutionary!" So, why write a book about CHE? It's a story about a strategy which has and continues to change the developing world, and it is a story that needs to be told. I'm not stretching the truth here, CHE truly has changed the world. My goal is to tell the story of how CHE was started, how it changed and grew at Medical Ambassadors International (MAI), what happened next, and where is CHE going now. It is an astonishing story! God has provided me a front-row chair during these years and has allowed me the privilege to know the key players, I have had the chance to travel to several of the countries and see personally the difference CHE is making in lives and whole communities. All of this has provided me a chair at the CHE table, a candid and sincere view into this world I want to convey to you. I hope it will inspire you deeply, encourage you, and most importantly, challenge you to get involved. Will you take a chair with me?
