As an Original Crew Member at Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, TN, I enjoy bringing the Titanic to life for our visitors. I especially enjoy the children. Brimming with excitement and ready to embrace the experience with open arms, they often surprise and delight all of us with their unique perspectives. Much of Titanic Behind the Scenes is devoted to the fresh perspectives of these amazing children. Titanic Behind the Scenes also includes my meeting with Brynjar Karl, the autistic ten-year-old from Iceland who built the incredible fifty-six thousand piece Lego model of the Titanic we exhibit in our Discovery Gallery. None of us will soon forget the day Brynjar, his mother, and his grandfather were welcomed to the museum for their first encounter with Brynjar's breathtaking Titanic. You can read my account of that emotional day in Chapter Nine. Titanic Behind the Scenes offers behind-the-scenes glimpses of the cast, crew, artifacts, and guests of Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, TN, the largest museum of Titanic artifacts in the world. The book will inspire you to reach with childlike curiosity toward the mystery of the Titanic. Titanic Behind the Scenes also considers what Titanic meant to the culture of 1912 and why it continues to fascinate us today.
