Kokila and Rukmini Debi met in Kolkata and fell in love. Sweltering hot, blatantly raw display of carnal desires marks the crescendo of the novella as the lovers meet, making it clear to the reader that romance, love, sex, and desire are all common expressions of bonding in same-sex partnerships.
