A note from the author: Dear Reader: I decided to pull the shoebox out from under the bed and type up the scribbles a few months ago. I have been writing since 1963 give or take and with no intention of ever showing you anything. Let me rephrase that: With every intention of never showing them to anyone. So, when I really started visualizing the moment of publication, it felt like I had broken a promise to my children and was sending them off into the city where the citizens were from one country and my children from another. I felt compelled to create a synaptic bridge for the purpose of setting up the "room." I have attempted to pull up a few comfortable chairs, pour our favorite beverages, and hopefully have left a bit of time for us to take a few deep easy breaths before we even read the first page. There we are now. So, read on then. And thank you for your kind attention, for there is little else more valuable than that.
