Vinnie Papilardo is a young retired boxer living in Philadelphia in the 1980s. He is trapped by the specters of his physical handicap and troubled youth. Vinnie is out of a job and desperate. So, he takes a job at an afterhours, classy nightclub as a bouncer-another dead-end living. One thing leads to another, and he finds himself in a shady situation as a shylock-a street money lender. His boundless ambition quickly gives rise to a successful, yet risky, career. Along the way he reconnects with his unrequited High School flame. Rash decisions lead to a major downfall, which endangers all that he worked so hard for. Will he be able to stop the wholesale destruction of busting faces, betraying loved ones and wrecking their future?
