Yngvar Hakonsson is a Viking hero and warrior. His companions, the Descendants of the Wolf, are fiercely loyal to him. Skalds already sing songs of his deeds. Yet he is also a wanted man. Deposed King of Norway, Erik Blood-Axe, carries a wound that forever reminds him of his defeat at Yngvar's hands. Infuriated and humiliated, Erik puts a bounty on Yngvar's life.
