The Mackinac Bridge, "Guardian of the Straits," was constructed simply to connect the Upper Peninsula and Lower Peninsula. To ease the flow of traffic and serve as a reference, a lighthouse, for Great Lakes vessels traveling through the Straits of Mackinac. In this Great Lakes poetic short story, it becomes evident that the structure forged from concrete and steel has a personality softer side. This poetic short story was originally published in Great Lakes Whisper, A Collection of "Great Lakes Poetic Short Stories." This version introduces the character Mac as the personality of the Mackinac Bridge.
