Thomas Riley, a deadly shade belonging to the enigmatic Charon the Boatman, poses as an investigator for a private firm. He leads a nihilistic life of hedonism with death lurking around every corner, comforted only by a pair of blue eyes that haunt his dreams. Upon discovering a red leather binder containing links between the Office of Social Harmony, human trafficking and horrific human experimentation Riley is forced to confront the blood soaked terrors that make up the criminal underworld in the post-Apocalyptic Kingston and threaten to return it to the wastes from which it was forged. With the help of a beautiful Warden-Captain, and the denizens of the Wastes, Riley will dodge the most powerful entities that inhabit the end of the world, and have guided his fate since before his birth.
