Centuries of research into Nano-Technology first produced Cyborgs, then Androids, ultimately bringing forth the evolution of what was known as The Lazarus Tank, where a broken body could be repaired by Nanites. But those tanks had their limits until a brilliant scientist in the Thirty-Ninth Century A. D. discovered how to move beyond those limitations, and not only repair a broken body, but to reconstruct one from the broken parts and pieces of a human being, as long as the brain was not damaged. His quest for funding brought him his first test subject, a Planetary Marshall who was broken beyond what a standard Lazarus Tank could attend too. The success of returning this Marshall back to a complete human being brought him other subjects, and a vast research center and grants. But these new subjects were children, born with major birth defects which would take their lives before they entered puberty. Children with malformed bodies, blind, deaf, and without the ability to express their pain or dreams, yet with minds still capable of learning. Cassiopeia was the first of these subjects.
