Inspired by a relative, Jeanette Stace, herself renowned in her native New Zealand / Aotearoa, for her haiku and other poetry, Rhona has since moved on to writing haiku in the more condensed, modern English form, as well as exploring a modern application of the traditional English sonnet, and other forms of poetry.
