Dontonio Wingfield knows the powerful pull of the past. Having grown up in a world of poverty, abuse and addictions, he passionately pursued a path that would take him to a successful life of money and fame. His status as the Albany (Georgia) basketball superstar of the 1990's opened the door for him to become a starting freshman at the University of Cincinnati. After one year, Dontonio was drafted to the NBA by the Seattle Supersonics reaching the pinnacle of success. However, all of it came crashing down in one fatal swoop. With honesty and transparency, Dontonio shares with the rest of the world his story of mistakes and poor choices that led him to a season of darkness and pain. Fortunately, that season was neither final nor fatal. Dontonio chose to rise up to a life filled with meaning and purpose. As a result, he is creating a new life for himself and for future generations.
