It captures a young narrator teetering on the edges of adulthood, navigating the shifting expectations of her community, family, and self. With limited skills, Nori seeks out new ways to engage with the world. This book captures a multiracial, cis-female experience, and examines the challenges and isolation a multiracial girl faces in small-town America.
