The Abstract god
Albert Klassen
This is a book written in poetic verse about the absurdity of a belief in a god named YHWH. It examines the ethical dilemma this fictional god faces as he claims to be a god of love while destroying most of mankind in the flood and committing ethnic cleansing when his chosen people are instructed to kill all the inhabitants of the land they conquered. It claims that this god is just one of many made up ones like Thor and Zeus and Athena, most of which have faded away from relevance. YHWH only exists in an abstract sense and is simply the construct of people trying to explain natural phenomenon using a supernatural point of view.
