Can't Her Bury Tales focuses on the lives of transwomen surviving the post nuclear apocalypse, inspired by countless video games, music, current events, and art history as well at the writings of Geoffrey Chaucer (Canterbury Tales), Edmund Spencer (The Faerie Queen), and Russell Hoban (Riddley Walker). Inspired by the author's life experience and those who helped build her up to the sweet and sour soul she is today, Iona explores the ideas of love and loss, religion, body positivity, mental health awareness, self love, disability, sacrifice and survival. As a child, the author's earliest memory of art was coloring books. She remembers spending hours leaving her mark, adding color and soul to blank, mass produced pages, regardless of whether the colors stayed inside the lines. The author's ultimate hope is to send love, solidarity and support to the transgender women going through their own struggles. Iona hopes you find strength to claw, gnaw, and kill your way to paradise.
