Crows Caw The Rising Sun is a first-person narrative that takes place in the decrepit Downtown Eastside [DTES] neighbourhood of Vancouver during the spring/summer of 2019. The book examines mundane, absurd and violent aspects of local life, behaviors and history through the lens of a young individual on the precipice of self realization. The narrative is a grim, satirical, hopeful and dramatic representation of the psychological process of self acceptance in the context of an individual's existence.
