After the decades-long war between the kingdom and the rebellion ended, Blackwood thought his burden as chancellor would lessen. Now, he stresses day and night investigating an attempt on the king's life to prove his suspicions, which mean nothing without evidence. Desperate, he resorts to summoning the greatest mind in the continent. Unfortunately for him, the one to possess it is his greatest adversary in the court of Parliament.
