When the peaceful Achare people find themselves in the path of the warring clans, the pressure of survival falls heavily upon them. Rennik, a spurned Achare hunter, must navigate a life-threatening voyage into the wilds to assess the reality of the threat.




Upon his return, Rennik is thrust into both the heated politics of his home and the divination magics of his mentor. He tasks himself with convincing the Achare clan to leave their promised land and return to their traditional nomadic lifestyle. A dangerous opposition forms in the shape of Ciqala, a belligerent man who will do everything in his power to keep them where they are, ready to raise spears against the coming threat - a prideful decision that will surely turn their home into a grave.




To save his family, his people, and himself, Rennik must change from a disgraced outsider to a leader of his people, from a quiet hunter to a man of action. After all - he won't always have a herd of bison to do his killing.
