Children come into puberty about sex, sexuality, and marriage. They are exposed to worldly concepts in the media and through others. Few kids see or hear the Godly answers their questions. The reluctance of some parents to discuss sexual matters with their children or the parent's ignorance concerning God's direction on sex and marriage leave the young vulnerable.
The Talk is a solution to the problem of parents not being able to provide their children with Christian guidance on sexual matters. Whether parents shy from the subject or just don't know the Christian answers, The Talk meets the need. It saves them from having to search through the scriptures for many of their answers. It is recommended the parent and child read and discuss the book together. But, if the parent lacks the courage to do that, they can simply offer their child this book and when they find the courage, discuss the book with them. In any case the children should not go into the world unarmed.
The Talk can be called a self-help book for young and new Christians wanting to live a life pleasing unto God. It addresses an area of life that can be most damaging. There are many who now look at their lives, especially those who have taken on the burden of single parenthood, who wish they had first read a book like this.
